Alan’s Army

Another tough day as Alan continued to have a bad headache.  He didn’t do much therapy and didn’t eat anything for breakfast or lunch simply because his head hurt.  Thankfully the anti-nausea meds seem to be working fine so drinking isn’t a problem.

They increased the steroids that Alan had been being weaned off and tried a different pain medication.

The nurse checked the computer for us and said that the Dr. noted that the CT scans showed no change, we also asked her to check on the Dr. order allowing Alan to go outside.

Disc Golf friends Bob Graham and Scot Witteman both visited today and workmate  Thomas Hornedo and family visited as well.  Alan was glad to see them all even if he wasn’t up to much more than laying in bed and talking a little bit.

We got him to eat a little at about 8:25 and left after official hours at about 8:50 with him peaceful with his ipod playing.

We checked on the way out on the Dr. order and the nurse said his book did have a notation that he could go outside with his parents for an hour.  I snuck back to the room to tell him that Angel would visit tomorrow and also verified that yes, Amber was coming too.  He was very happy and I hope he’s resting well.

The 30 minute drive home is a blessing compared to the hour from Philly.
